Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to every quote, proof and order for custom printed or encoded cards supplied by OPENNODE INC under the LORDS CARD brand. They are written to be read, not to be hidden.

Effective November 5, 2026 Applies to lordscancard.com & all orders Seller OPENNODE INC, Georgia

In short

  • Nothing is produced until you approve a digital proof in writing — that approved proof defines the job.
  • Custom cards are made to order, so they are not returnable once produced; defects, damage and short counts are always made right.
  • Georgia law governs, and our total liability for an order is capped at what you paid for it.

01Who we are

OPENNODE INC is a Georgia corporation with its principal place of business at 236 Nix Loop SE, Fairmount, GA 30139. We sell card programs under the LORDS CARD brand through lordscancard.com. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean OPENNODE INC; “you” means the person or organization placing the order.

By requesting a quote, approving a proof, or paying a deposit or invoice, you accept these terms. If you are ordering on behalf of a company, club or agency, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to this agreement.

02Quotes and orders

A quote is an offer, not a reservation of capacity. Quoted prices hold for 30 days unless the quote states otherwise, and may be revised if material costs, chip allocations or freight rates change before you accept.

An order becomes binding when we confirm it in writing (email is sufficient) and you have paid the deposit or prepayment required for your account. We may decline any order — for example where artwork cannot be printed cleanly, where a chip format cannot be verified for your reader, or where the intended use appears unlawful.

The minimum order is 100 cards per design. Smaller quantities can be arranged at a higher unit price, and sample or stock items may have their own minimums.

03Your artwork and proofs

You are responsible for supplying print-ready artwork and for the accuracy of every variable field: names, photos, member numbers, barcodes, UIDs and URLs. We check files for bleed, trim, safe area and barcode quiet zones before proofing, but we do not rewrite copy or correct data.

Production starts only after you approve the digital proof in writing. The approved proof is the specification for the job. Once approved, responsibility for its content — spelling, numbering, chip type, encoding data, colour intent — passes to you.

Proofs are shown on screen in RGB. They are a layout and content reference, not a colour contract; press output is matched to CMYK or Pantone references as stated on the quote.

04Print tolerances

Card manufacturing is a physical process. Unless your quote states tighter values, these industry tolerances apply and are accepted as conforming:

  • Format: CR-80 85.60 × 53.98 mm, thickness 0.76 mm (±10%), ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 where applicable.
  • Trim: ±0.5 mm on cut position; chip and antenna placement ±0.5 mm.
  • Quantity: ±10% over or under, invoiced on the quantity actually shipped.
  • Colour: normal variation between runs and substrates; spot colours matched to a stated Pantone reference within commercial tolerance, not to a screen preview.
  • Surface: minor handling marks inside the printable area that do not affect legibility or the chip.

05Chips, readers and encoding

We supply cards in compatible formats. MIFARE, DESFire, NTAG and ICODE are trademarks of NXP B.V.; HID Prox and iCLASS are trademarks of HID Global. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by those companies, and we do not sell their branded product lines.

We do not supply readers, access-control software or member databases, and we cannot guarantee performance in a system we cannot see. Where compatibility matters, test a sample before releasing a full run — we will supply one.

Encoding is performed to the format stated on your order: read-only UID, block write, NDEF URL, or a data file you supply. We do not clone credentials, decrypt protected sectors, or bypass any security feature. We will decline any instruction to encode credentials you are not authorized to issue.

06Prices, tax and payment

All prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude freight, insurance and sales tax unless the quote says otherwise. Payment methods, deposits, credit terms and tax treatment are set out in our Payment Policy, which forms part of these terms.

We may suspend production or shipment on any account that is past due, without affecting our other rights.

07Lead times and delivery

Production starts after proof approval and, for new accounts, receipt of the deposit. Typical timelines: 7–12 business days production, 2–3 business days for encoding, and 2–4 business days ground transit. Metal, wood and hand-finished stock adds time.

Dates we give are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. A delay does not by itself entitle you to cancel. If we run more than 30 days past the confirmed ship date for reasons within our control, you may cancel the undelivered portion and receive a refund for it.

Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery to the carrier or, for will-call, on pickup. Shipping, damage and shortage rules are in our Shipping Policy.

08Cancellations and changes

  • Before proof approval: cancel at no cost; any prepayment is refunded in full.
  • After proof approval, before production: setup, plate and material commitments already made are retained.
  • After production starts: custom goods cannot be cancelled. You pay for completed quantity and non-cancellable materials.
  • Changes after approval: a new proof and a new lead time begin from the date the change is approved.

09Warranty and claims

We warrant that cards will materially conform to the approved proof and be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery. This is your exclusive warranty; we give no other express or implied warranty, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, beyond what Georgia law requires.

Claims must be made in writing within 15 days of delivery, with photos or returned samples and a count. Our remedy, at our option, is reprint, replacement or refund of the affected cards. Full claim steps are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

The warranty does not cover: content you approved, data you supplied, wear or misuse, damage after delivery, performance in readers or systems we did not supply, or normal colour variation between runs.

10Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost members, lost access, or the cost of substitute goods.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to an order is limited to the amount you actually paid us for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

11Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold OPENNODE INC harmless from third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from: artwork, logos or data you supplied; your use of the cards, including any access-control or membership decision made with them; your failure to obtain rights or consents; or your breach of these terms.

12Intellectual property

You keep all rights in your artwork and data, and grant us a limited licence to use them to produce and deliver your order. We keep all rights in our templates, dielines, photography, site content and process documentation.

Unless you tell us otherwise in writing when ordering, we may photograph non-confidential finished work for our portfolio and sample library. We will not display member names, photos or personal data.

13Acceptable use

Our cards may not be used to gain unauthorized access to premises, systems or data; to clone or emulate credentials you do not own; to imitate government-issued identity documents; or in breach of export control, sanctions or consumer-protection law. If an order looks like it is headed there, we will ask questions and may refuse it.

14Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control — natural disasters, carrier or port disruption, epidemic, war, utility or network failure, government action, or shortages of chip or substrate supply. We will tell you promptly and agree a revised schedule.

15Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the U.N. Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

The state and federal courts located in Gilmer County, Georgia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. Before filing, send us written notice describing the dispute and allow 30 days for us to resolve it.

16Changes and contact

We may update these terms as our process or the law changes; the version posted here at the time you place an order governs that order. Material changes will be dated at the top of this page.
